A tribute to H. M. The Queen on her 60th Birthday. The definitive sound picture album of the Royal Family recorded by BBC Radio and Television from 1924 to 1986.Produced bySylvia Cartner.Researched by Peter Jefferson and Laurie Sheehan. Sleeve design by Mario Moscardini. These records are Mono except where a few stereo recordings have been included, as indicated. BBC Records acknowledges with sincere gratitude the co-operation of The Lord Chamberlain and the BBC/ITV Consortium for the excerpt from the film 'Royal Family'; EMI Records for the excerpts from The Coronation; Decca Record Co. Ltd. for excerpts from the speech by Sir Winston Churchill; the Dean and Chapter of Westminster Abbey and the Dean and Chapter of St. George's Chapel, Windsor; the Lord mayor and Corporation of London; and especially, all those who have given permission for their voices, or those of their next-of-kin, to be included in these records. Many of the recordings in these records have been taken from old discs in the BBC Sound Archives and from News broadcasts, sometimes short-wave transmissions, so the technical quality varies but every effort has been made to reach the highest technical standard possible. The produce would like to thank the Sound Archives staff and all other BBC staff who have given assistance during the production of these records. | ||

BBC Radio Enterprises Ltd and BBC Enterprises Ltd, predecessors of BBC Worldwide / BBC Worldwide Ltd., the BBC's commercial arm. Formed 1968 and 1979 respectively, they were a subsidiary wholly owned by the BBC and merged into BBC Worldwide in 1995. In that time, there were companies set up within or structured brands as part of the company to deal with separate parts of the business, e.g. BBC Records for recorded audio. Sometimes written as BBC Enterprise Ltd. The items shown here are from the "main" BBC Records and Tapes library covering a wide secletion of genres from themes, comedy dramas and others, depending on which format you have selected. |
